Meet the Team!

Clive Ashworth, BVSc, MRCVS. - Veterinary Surgeon, Partner
Clive qualified from Bristol University in 1982 and joined the practice in 1986. He became a partner in 1989 and works predominantly at the Hanworth Road branch. Clive now lives in Sunbury with his wife and two sons. He enjoys working on his allotment and looking after his free range hens. He has a keen interest in alternative herbal veterinary medicine as well as conventional therapy.

Mike Pipe, BVSc, MRCVS. - Veterinary Surgeon
Mike qualified from the University of Bristol in 1974 and started working at Dudley House after two to three years of mixed farm practice in Wiltshire. Since then he has worked at both the Hampton and Sunbury surgeries with brief spells in Swindon and Harrow as well. Currently Mike is working at the Sunbury branch where he first started in 1977. His interests include music, gardening, photography and travel.

Max King, BVMS, MRCVS. - Veterinary Surgeon
Max qualified from Glasgow University in 1997, and started work here part-time just a few weeks after qualifying. At the time he also worked as an animal behaviour consultant at Roger Mugford's Animal Behaviour Centre. He now works full time at the Dudley House branch where he enjoys seeing many long-standing clients as well as meeting new faces. His interests at work lie in internal medicine. Outside of work he enjoys music, literature, films and camping.

Alice Simpson, BVet Med, MRCVS. - Veterinary Surgeon
Alice graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2007.
She joined the practice in Jan 2009 after working in small animal practice in Bracknell. Alice grew up in Sunbury and was keen to move back to the area after graduating, so was very pleased to become part of the team here. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially feline medicine, neurology and cardiology. Alice has 2 cats and in her spare time enjoys swimming and baking.

David Platten, BVSc, MRCVS. - Veterinary Surgeon
David qualified from Bristol in 1988. After two years working at a busy west London hospital practice, he travelled widely in Asia & Australia. He returned to the U.K. in 1992 and began working for the Sherwood Vet Group shortly afterwards where he has remained ever since. He has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery. David is married to Dawn who lectures in veterinary nursing and inbetween the hectic times which come with a young family, is a school governor and enjoys hill walking, cycling and cooking. David also keeps urban chickens which certainly seems to be a growing pastime and is perfectly happy to see them as patients at the Hampton branch where he is based!

Jane Blayer, VN. - Practice Manager
Jane joined the practice over 30 years ago in 1976. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1979 and worked until 1984 when she left to start a family. She came back in 1989 to continue working as Head Nurse, completed a certificate in Management Studies in 1996 and then became Practice Manager. She enjoys keeping fit, travelling, music and films as well as tending her beautiful garden. She now lives in Staines with her husband, two sons and cat.

Adaline Fahey, VN. - Administration
Adaline started working at the practice in 1984 as a qualified veterinary nurse. She now works part time in a number of roles, including dealing with paperwork nobody else wants to do! She spends alot of her spare time water-skiing, and has achieved world class status, with World Championship Gold medals and two current World Records! She lives with her husband, son, dog and a terror of a cat in Byfleet!

Christie Lewitt-Smith, RVN, A1 Unit Assessor. - Head Nurse
Christie joined the practice as a student nurse in 1998 after completing a BTech Diploma in Animal Care and Science. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004, gained her qualification as an assessor in 2006 and became Head Nurse in 2008. Always a smiling face around the practice, Christie married her policeman husband last year in Barbados. She owns a cat called Binx which she rehomed from the surgery after he was brought in as a stray with a horrible collar wound.

Clare Cusack, RVN. - Nurse.
Clare joined our team in 2002 as a receptionist after living in New Zealand for the previous ten years. When the opportunity arose she commenced her nursing training. She is now a qualified veterinary nurse and continues to enjoy her work and has also found the time to get married! In her spare time Clare runs her cat feeding and dog sitting service and enjoys tennis, photography and travel.

Kirsty Morris, RVN. - Nurse, Puppy parties, Clinics
Kirsty joined the practice in 2007, after leaving college. She began studying for her NVQ in Veterinary Nursing in September 2007, passed her first year exams in July 2008 and qualified in July 2010 at her first attempt! When she’s not studying she enjoys looking after her two cats and socialising. Like many of the staff here she has ended up adopting unwanted animals from the surgery!

Jo McGrath, RVN. - Nurse
Jo started working for us in February 2011, as an almost qualified veterinary nurse. She soon finished her training and qualified as a RVN in April. She is another lively and energetic member of the team, and has a particular interest in feline medicine. In her spare time, Jo enjoys swimming and belly dancing!

Katie Fanning. - Student Nurse
Katie started working with us on Saturdays in August 2008, soon becoming a full time member of the staff, working mainly on reception. She started training as a student Veterninary Nurse at the
end of 2010 and hopes to qualify at some time in the not too distant future! Outside of work she enjoys Irish Dancing and spends most of her time looking after her lively and boisterous young
dog!

Carol Jamieson. -Receptionist
Carol first worked at the practice between 1969 and 1979 as a veterinary nurse, returning in 2003 as a receptionist. Her hobbies include agility training with her gorgeous Border Collies. She also enjoys caravaning holidays and teaches agility training at a local club.

George Collins. - Receptionist
George is the the youngest member of the team and one of those rare species--a male veterinary receptionist! In his spare time he enjoys playing football with his friends, taking his dog for walks and socialising.
